The Garage
About
- 3.5
The Garage Eatery & Pub is housed in a 1950's era former auto repair shop in Tucson’s Historic West University Neighborhood. Our street corner is where the Historic Old Pueblo Trolley and the modern Sun Link streetcar turn from 4th Avenue onto University Boulevard. Originally built in the early 1950's as a two bay auto repair shop, the original owner of the auto garage was Mr. Zimmer. During the 1970s two north bays were added to the building which brought the masonry block building to its current size. Many longtime current residents remember the building as Boatner’s service station in the 1990's. During almost seven decades, the building has been a gas station, a used car lot and even an upholstery shop. Although The Garage Eatery & Pub has been repurposed once more, the walls are original and the glass garage doors facing 4th Avenue pay homage and remind patrons of the building’s unique history. We hope you stop in and enjoy your stay.
